ONE OF A KIND

Vegas was the best dog I ever had. I have had many pets and every one's passing took a toll on my heart, but Vegas was the ultimate pet & member of the family. She was with my husband before I came along and she accepted me as her own. We could always trust her with our kids, which was huge. Our baby Lauren could play beside her.

She was almost human. She was always happy to see us. She wanted to be with us every minute of the day.

She lived to be about 14, which was very old for a Boxer. She didn't show signs of sickness so we were surprised when we lost her.

One night, I called for the dogs to come in from the back yard. Her friend, Max, the beagle, came in but no Vegas. I went out to look for her and found her laying in the yard motionless. She was still warm. I wish we could have been with her in her last moments. She gave us the ultimate gift but not putting us through the agony of putting her down. And, best of all, she went while the kids weren't there, sparing them the trauma of seeing a beloved pet die.

I miss her still and wish that my 2 small children could grow up with her. I hope to see her again some day, because it would be Heaven to have all my pets surround me for eternity, along with my family & friends.

We didn't have her long enough but every day we had her was a good day.
